SIKA roof waterproofing

On May 26th, a training course on Sika's Liquid Membrane Roof Waterproofing Systems (LAM) was held at the training centre of Sika's facilities located in Les Franqueses del Vallès (Barcelona) a training on Sika's Liquid Membrane Roof Waterproofing Systems (LAM) . In this case, it was a cordial, pleasant, fun and educational day among colleagues.

In addition to Nutersa, a specialist distributor of Sika's Building Envelope division, the approved applicator companies were in attendance. The attendees participated actively, sharing their concerns and experience while having the opportunity to combine learning and fun.

The day was divided into a theoretical and a practical part. Álvaro García was in charge of the first part as instructor. On the other hand, Sika instructors José Cáceres and Jesús Fernández were in charge of the practical part. Also, on this occasion we were accompanied by the sales representatives from Catalonia and we were supported throughout the day by Vicente Nava, Target Manager of the Roofing Division. Committed to nature and concerned about the environmental impact of their creations, they gave us the opportunity to learn about the best solutions proposed by SIKA for the waterproofing of roofs by means of liquid membranes.

Waterproofing solutions

Sika has developed a continuous training programme for companies applying its building solutions and systems. In this way, they are certified by the manufacturer, so that its partners are aware of all the possibilities of its wide range of products and systems. In this case, the course focused on giving an overview of Sika's Liquid Membrane Roof Waterproofing Systems (LAM), structuring the presentation into three basic pillars:

  • SIKA' s possibilities for different types of buildings and their various applications.
  • The different technological roofing materials, in particular, liquid membranes for in-situ application, where we find the Sikafill range, the Sikalastic and Sikaroof MTC systems.
  • The common features, advantages, how and in which spaces the products are used of:
    • Sikafill: as Sikafill 300 thermic with a thermally efficient membrane and Sikafill 400, both as hybrid membranes.
    • Sikalastic 631 BC- 702- 612-701
    • Sikaroof MTC 22-18-15-12

Over the years, the brand has become a reliable partner in building and construction. This is because they provide solutions to their customers all over the world with technically proven waterproofing materials. They also bring added value to their customers by giving them further support services on their products and their installation.

The importance of roof waterproofing

Waterproofing is one of the most important steps during the construction and renovation of any building. This is because roofs are exposed to extreme conditions every day, and therefore can become damaged and deteriorate over time. To prevent this from happening, it is vital to select a good roof that protects the users and the interior, and it must be well designed and well installed so that it will last without failure.

In short, Sika's Roof Waterproofing Systems are the best solution as they are not only durable in wind, rain, snow, hail and other environmental conditions. They also have multiple advantages such as improving the thermal sensation, creating a healthier environment and also increasing the value of the property.
